good morning everybody.
I was asked by some people to write my blog in english so that everybody can understand it.
Well the last days have been really exciting and quite an experience. The most impressive thing must have been makola market which we visited yesterday. It was quite a journey to find it especially because in all that chaos they have like 4 markets and seems totally normal to get lost there. But we had Jana with us who has an admirable sense of direction. They had everything on that market, nice stuff , disgusting stuff, things i know and things that were totally new to me.first we wanted to see the material market which is in  a roofed area and all the mammies(sellers, which are unexceptional women) sell their high towers of material. that looks quite impressive because everything is colourful. I try to upload some pictures later. And of course i bought some nice textiles. 6 yards for 23 cedi( about 11 euro).but suddenly we slipped into an other area of the market which ajla didn't like so much(in fact she got nauseous of it). it was the meet and food area. the air was filled with a thousand of (disgusting) smells. mostly undefineable. they had pigfeet there just cut off put allogether in a bowl, they had various parts of any animal and dried fish. but the most nauseating thing were the dried guinea pigs.
the mammies are mostly wealthy persons who spend their live on the market. they bring their children there who are playing in the dirt all time. The children here are so incredibly cute! an quite often the shyly shot a glace towards the obruni (whites) over their parents shoulder and smile extremely sweet.
The african women mostly just put them on their backs with a big textile. the children put their feet under the moms arms(which looks sometimes funny like if the mom has 4 arms:))and their heads dangle around.
While Germany is reaching -20 degree it keeps getting hotter here. yesterday was simlpy crazy at that ,market in the heat with the sun burning down all the time. But it's weekend so we're planning on staying at the beach all day. The lambadi beach is about one hour by trotro from here and always crowded they play ghanaian musik+bob marley all day. musik is everywhere and its always crazily loud. even right now our neighbour is freaking out. its 9 in the morning and the bass drones through the whole house. i don't understand how they don't get totally deaf. here you find one of the mostplayed ghanaian songs that alway stick in my head because they play it everywhere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpBBkyVfUJE
So lots of kisses, and keep warm in that ice age you're having;)
